This photoshoot was commissioned for the Tideland Magazine article. However, instead of doing just “a few photos” I connected with Karen prior to the shoot. We talked through her business, the article and her journey and goals as well some art influences and important moments in life. I showed her some ideas when we met and then updated the idea board to stay closer to her values and to showcase her business and craft.

The photoshoot was 2 hours and we did the videos within that timeframe as well. Having the idea board helped identify the aspects of Karen's business to focus on, she knew what to expect and we were able to pivot the day of where we needed to. It also helped stay on time and cover a wide range of storylines about her.
